How to silence that critical voice in your head
... here's how I did it
Hey, mate,
You are your own harshest critic.
And this is hurting you far more than you realise.
When I was 21, I went through a devastating breakup that kicked off my growth journey.
As I became more self-aware, I noticed something: there was a voice in my head, and that voice fucking hated me.
The worst part? I knew that voice was wrong. I wasn’t the broken, unfixable, terrible person it made me out to be.
I knew it logically, but it wasn’t enough.
The voice persisted for years, crippling my self-esteem and ruining my confidence. Soon, I even started to believe what the voice was saying.
“Maybe I really am broken,” I thought.
The voice almost took over… until something remarkable happened.
During a session with my mentor, I was being particularly harsh on myself.
It’s as if the voice took control of me for a moment and used my voice to spew its nasty, vile venom all over the room.
“I’m such a fucking failure. It’s like I ruin everything I touch,” I said.
What my mentor said next was one of those questions that cuts through the layers of denial right to the core.
He replied, “Oliver … whose voice is that?”
I was stunned.
The silence was deafening … until the answer came.
“My dad’s,” I replied.
Tears filled my eyes. I sobbed. As the salty water left my eyes, I felt tension evaporate from my body. That critical voice began to weaken.
I had never connected the critical inner voice with my father before. That insight lifted a burden I had been carrying for a decade.
In the years that followed, the critical inner voice got weaker. I knew where it came from, and that knowledge helped me let it go.
Since then, my life has become like a dream. I travel where I want, earning great money doing what I love. And it was inner work that allowed it to happen.
I once tried to FORCE myself to change:
Habit trackers
Every self-help book known to man
Productivity blocking
Approaching 20 women a day
And MUCH more…
These things are useful tools, but nothing will make a car run smoothly if the handbrake is still on.
So if you’re struggling at the moment, maybe it’s the inner work you should be focusing on. The question to ask is, “how?”
This is why on the 5th of August I am kicking off a 30-day inner healing challenge for men.
In a community of other men doing the work, you’ll be taken through a full journey with daily exercises and guided meditations to help you heal the wounds that have been preventing you from stepping into your full power and potential.
But here’s the thing… I’m offering it to you for 50% off. This offer expires on the 21st of July. After that, the price goes up.
So if you’ve been feeling stuck in your life and unsure where to go, the answer is within. Let me show you how.
If you can’t pay now, no worries. Just send me an email to reserve a space and we can work something out.
I look forward to seeing you in the programme, mate.
Take care,
OC
