how to change your life in 3 - 6 months

... end the inner civil war with yourself

Hey man,

You know what to do.

But you can’t get yourself to do it consistently.

Why?

This is the problem I had last year.

But I came across an approach to fixing it that was nothing short of life-changing.

Over a month, I successfully managed to:

  • Start hitting the gym regularly again

  • Cut out junk food

  • Stop vaping

  • Quit weed.

  • Meditate every day

  • Lose 5kgs of body fat

  • And TONS more micro-habit changes in how I connected with people.

You see, I’ve struggled with my lifestyle and habits for a long time.

But this change was so dramatic and powerful that I felt compelled to share it.

So here it is in a nutshell.

The #1 reason why you know what to do but don’t do it…

Whether it’s hitting the gym. Quitting smoking/porn/weed/junk food. Stopping procrastinating. Reading more books. Drinking more water.

You don’t stick to it for very long for a pretty simple reason.

And that’s because deep down…

There’s a part of you that does NOT want to do the things you’re trying to make it do.

This part is your “inner child” or “younger self.”

And for most of us, this inner child is wounded in some way.

You try to force him to change.

And the harder you crack the whip, the more wounded he becomes.

Yet this is what we’re doing constantly.

Using judgement, criticism and blame towards ourselves to try to get us to do things and then fail.

So what did I do that changed everything?

I stopped being my own worst enemy.

I decided to become a loving big brother to myself.

And with specific writing and mindfulness practices, listen to what my inner child had to say.

It wasn’t easy.

It was deeply painful at times.

But after I connected with him, I unlocked a new superpower.

The ability to negotiate with him and enlist his help for achieving my goals.

And then over time, my inner child joined my side…

I started to notice habits getting easier and easier.

I was waking up early without a fuss.

Getting to the gym became easy and I was 100x more productive than before.

The best part is that none of this felt like a serious effort.

In fact, it was easy.

It makes me think of the David Goggins “GO HARD” crowd.

It surely works for some people but what about the rest?

Men need to heal their inner child and end the inner civil war if they hope to achieve any kind of lasting behaviour change.

Self-hatred is NOT a reliable motivator.

Yes, “inner child” might sound woo-woo but the exercises are surprisingly practical…and they just fucking work.

That’s why inner-child healing is one of the core components of the work I do with men to overcome procrastination, build unwavering discipline and establish a solid routine with good habits.
